Through this camp you’ll explore the world of building in LEGO scale by researching different designs through the ages and discover how real-world engineers and architects work together to build world-class projects. For 87 years, LEGO has inspired people to use simple brick to create everything from buildings to works of art, theme parks, and more! In this new camp, with the help of thousands of LEGOs, we’ll explore the vast world of LEGO, from its humble beginnings to becoming the world’s largest toy company. Throughout the week, you’ll participate in LEGO challenges with STEM components. We’ll also study LEGOLAND and the House of LEGOs from the points of view of engineers and architects. EV3 Robotics: Sumo Wrestling Style (Grades 4-9, rising)

Enter the sumo wrestling world with an in-depth look at its enriched history and design your own LEGO Mindstorm EV3 robot to challenge competitors and force them outside the ring. In this intense camp you’ll learn programming techniques and how to use sensors, like touch and light, to design your own sumobot. You’ll implement effective programming strategies you’ve learned throughout the week to earn the rank of “yokosuno” (grand champion). This camp is an introductory level to EV3 robotics. In this camp you’ll experience the world of architecture and recreate some of the most famous architectural feats using thousands of LEGOs. We’ll discuss well-known architects, their designs, and the history behind their famous buildings.
